Hi,
My WD 2.5 external hard drive just died yesterday I'm guessing is the logic board because if a plug the HD in the usb port I hear BEEP sound and is not recognized by the OS....I did try 2 more usb good know cables with no luck so my next step was to break the warranty took the enclosure off and put the HD directly inside the laptop with the same result
a beep sound and is not recognized by the bios or XP....I think is the logic board since the HD is not recognized by the bios inside the laptop
My question is that the logic board have 2 pcb numbers
one printed on the circuit board and the other one is on a sticker wich one is the right one?
The one on the board is
2060-701450-009 rev A
The one in the sticker is
2061-701450-700 AB |

Hmmm maybe you right
I tough it was the board because the bios won't recognize the hd and the beeping sound comes from the motor trying to spin the hard drive
After a good shake the HD spin for maybe 10 seconds but still is not recognized by the bios if I put the drive inside laptop or xp in usb mode.
So the hd need to spin to be recognize by the bios?
anyway is that board avaliable? price? send a pm |
