I have an old gateway PC that will not boot to Win XP. I do not have an XP boot disk (brother-in-law loaded XP). The Win 97 boot disk will not work. the Western Digital HDD does spin-up when PC is powered and the Phoenix Bios does recognize RAM, CD-Rom, HDD, but then freezes up and never opens Windows, but instead the screen is blank with the curser blinking in the upper left hand corner.

Help!!!!!
