Ok, so here is how the original drive broke. After unplugging and re plugging the IDE cable a number of time, I accidentally pushed one of the IDE pins through the connector and broke it off the board. I tried to re-solder it with no luck actually I made it worst, un-soldering other pins and soldering together some. I'm not an expert and should have never attempted this. But anyway, I found a replacement board on eBay, an exact match. Put the new board on and it worked!! Now the question is, is it safe to use this hard drive? Should I keep using this hard drive or should I ghost it on to another? |

Should be safe to use your drive now, but I would backup data from it to keep and if 1-2 weeks later everything is fine, just continue using it. _________________ www.datarecoveryne.com |
