I had a cheap power supply fry the logic board on a drive. This drive was my safe keep put away drive with all our family pictures and such. I still have all my sources but everything on this drive was consolidated as it was to be rarely used. I have in attempt of recovering the drive purchased two more of the same model only to receive drives with 3.AAE ST chipsets. I've found it might be difficult to find 3.AAK board as there are numerous posts about its lack of performance and Seagate taking them back. It comprises a LSI chipset.

It seems the couple times I tried to re-power the drive I saw smoke each time. I can visually see a burnt trace to a GE R742 resistor that is providing no resistance. 3.AAE drives use a GE R750 resistor that provides 16.6KOhms resistance.

I would much appreciate any wisdom or information to leads for efficiently restoring this drive.

I'm willing to pay $100 for the matching logic board to this drive and would be willing to send it back after use. Hope somebody can help! : )
