|
|
A few weeks ago my Samsung SP2504C drive stopped working. I bought another matching drive to switch the PCB's. When I put the new PCB on the old drive, I could feel the drive moving when powered up but the PC still wouldn't recognize the drive.
From what I've read if I switch the chips on the PCB that contain the drive's firmware, the drive might work again. I wouldn't be doing this myself, but I need to know which chip needs to be switched out?
The following is a picture identical to my own drive:

Firmware on that drive is stored in processor chip., which is marked with letter M.
New PCB has to be reprogrammed with info from original PCB. _________________ www.datarecoveryne.com |

Can you describe the failure symptom?
One of us may be able to help you repair your board, or at least confirm that the problem isn't elsewhere. Many times the problem is only a shorted diode, in which case it can simply be removed. |
