my problem is i was shutdown my pc. on next morning i tryed to start my pc but it stops on the detecting of my harddrives and dvd drives
after some waiting it was starting.. then i was look on computer and my drive was gone..
i looked in bios and gone too..
its maybe 2years old..
the motor starting without problems.. i was listen to the sound but no problems.. they dont detect it more so ithink its the pcb.
btw, i tryed in pc and extern via usb with external drive station
tryed other datacable and other power connector
may anyone got a other idea.. |

The rule of thumb appears to be that, if a drive spins up, or if it tries to spin up, then the board is probably OK. Instead the problem is most likely with the HDA (head/disc assembly).
If, OTOH, the drive makes no noise at all, and does not attempt to spin up, then the board is probably faulty.
I'm not a DR guy, but it sounds to me like your HD has a head or media fault.
If you intend to replace your PCB, be aware that you will most likely need to transplant the 8-pin serial EEPROM chip (flash) from patient to donor. This is because the EEPROM stores unique, drive specific, calibration data.
See the following article for help in identifying the components.
