My 5-year old son plugged my laptop power supply into my WD-5000AAVS portable HD and fried it. I need a PCB. Really, really bad.

My drive's specs:
WD5000AAVS-00ZTB0
DCM: HHNCNTJMBN
P/N on PCB: 2061-701444-j00

Someone, please take pity on me.

Did I mention that the same son also cracked the 17" LCD on my laptop last month? I must have very, very bad digital karma.

Kari

and mine had 2061-701477-200 AA on it so the drive powered up again just fine, but just not able to be recognized by the computer

Have to reprogram the board to match your unique microcode on a drive.

I have this board! Bought it for my Ibook but it was the wrong one, i have since bought the right one and just switched it! IT JUST WORKED!!

No need to replace anything in way of chips or reprogram!

Im based in the UK, if it helps anyone.

To you has simply carried. The microprogram in other board has appeared same as well as in your old board. However so carries very seldom. I would not began to give such advice as you because the person will buy the board, and it will not approach it. For nothing spent money!

I think you need to take a look at the compatibility issue of the HDD and the PCB. If that does not go through well, then there is a chance that you could end up with all those problems all over again. This is something that is pretty common. Try asking the vendor if it might be compatible.
