Hey, i have a need for a board for
seagate barracuda st3300831a (fw 3.03).
They're really hard to come by these days (too old?) and the price is usually > $100.
Fry's having a sale (59.99) for a st3300831a-rk
From what I can tell it's the same thing, except it has 16mb buffer instead of 8mb.
Is there any chance it might work? If there is, I'll buy it.
Thanks.

Did you get that "rk" board to work on your ST3300831A? If you didn't, I might have what you need.
I have a working PCB (control board) for a Seagate Barracuda 7200.8 300 gigabyte harddrive.
Model: ST3300831A
P/N: 9Y7284-301
Firmware: 3.03
Date Code: 06051
Site Code: AMK
The drive it was attached to took a small tumble in a USB enclosure while powered on and locked up the drive motor for good. I had an identical drive in my pc and swapped boards to test it and the board works on the other hard drive deck. Now, I have a board for a non-functioning hard drive deck. If you still need a board to get your hard drive running again and you think your hard drive had the same PCB as I have than perhaps I could sell this board to you or possibly make a trade of some kind.
Let me know.
