Same sad story, my hard drive board is bad.

I need ST3300831A Firmware 3.01.

I have the same model also with firmware 3.03 available if anyone needs it.

Also appreciate any pointers for how to locate one of these (trying ebay, google search).

I could not be any help, I actually have one with firmware 3.06

But I'm interested in your HDD ST3300831A Firmware 3.03 if you still have it.
