Here are the specifics, 2 HD both PCBs fried, short of killing my roommate who caused my Icydock and 2, 320G HDs to be fried I am trying just about anything to recover the data.

I found this site through GOOGLE, and well tbh I don't want to pay $500 to recover this data. Its either pray that the PCBs which are both fried, took all the damage and this will fix it, or choke my roommate senseless.

Without to much more here are the specifics

WD3200AAKS - 00SBA0
WD Caviar SE16
21 Mar 2007
DCM: EHNCHA2CB

PCB
2061-701444-800 AA

Made in Malaysia

I would really like to recover this data, these swaps were used to keep some family pictures and videos on that are pretty important to me. If you happen to have or know someone that does, or know where I could possibly locate these "PLEASE" let me know.

Unfortunately, PCB swap won't help you.
Your board carries important info that is unique to your drive.
In order to match your drive, someone will have to retreave microcode from original board and reprogram it to a new board. Special equipment is needed to do that.

Hi!

I have a 320GB WD HDD, from a my book word.
The book started to blink and nothing else happened.
I tried to put the disk into an external drive, but it switch off
immediately after power on. If I understood your post well,
repairing it at home won't lead anywhere, so what is your suggestion,
is there any way to repair it or get the data back without spending the price of a new one on it?

If the data is of no importance, get a new drive and move on, otherwise expect a repair price of $100+

If I was you I would not give up looking for a replacement board. Contrary to what the experts here are saying it is possible to replace the board and recover your data if it is only the board that is damaged. I have successfully recovered data from 2 of 3 hard drivrs that had fried boards to a short in my power supply, I could actually see the chips that were burned on the board. I was able to find the 2 identical boards I needed (make sure you get the exact same board, chip numbers, firmware etc...) and as I said I was able to recover everything, those were both Seagate drives, I have another post on here looking for my third board (off a Samsung HD400LD) and know that when I find it there is a good chance I will be able to recover that one as well....good luck in your search for a board, I have heard that sometimes it takes years to find that exact match...
