Gah!
Im so sick of this happening..
This is the 2. 750GB Seagate Barracuda drive that stops working for me..
And the worst part is that I cant remember what I had on it.. If I had lost anything of importance or not..
Ive used both drives in a USB enclosure, so this gives me the impression that using a 750gb disc in a USB enclosure isnt the smartest thing to do..
*Note to self*
It's the usual deal, the enclosure gives power to the drive, it starts spinning up, but then "click... spinning.. click... spinning.. click.." sound comes..
I dont wanna send these two harddrives in for a sick expensive repair, if its only the PCB which is broken..
Anyone got any clue?
Will installing them internally work? as Both harddrives have been installed externally with USB enclosure, each time they stopped working.. |

Hi,
Sounds not a simple swap PCB problem, suggest you to find a pro near you. Can spinning, and "click...", it could be a head problem...

On a high capacity Seagate I would be almost certain in saying you have a head assembly failure. THe firmware is very simple on a Seagate drive and is very unlikely to fail (which would also cause a clicking sound)
