My girlfriend's PC froze then stopped reading her HD - 7 years of personal data. It still spins and seems suspect to only need a new PCB board. The specs are:

Samsung SATA HD321KJ 320GB T166
Rev: A
PN: 410211FPB62451
Firmware: CP100-12
production date: 2007.11
S/N: SOZEJ1MPB38565

The only one I can seem to find and get specs for is:

Samsung SATA HD321KJ

Revision number: Rev.A
Firmware number: CP100-12
And production date: 2008.01

So the production date is off by 2 months. Is there a chance the PCB board would work or would it be a waste of money to try? Thanks.

You can try this board, but there is a little chance of it to work, but won't hurt.Your drive most likely has some other issues, not a board problem.

I would suggest to find a data recovery pro, while it might not be expensive to recover your data at this point.

Don't use a computer repair shop, because they might make your problem bigger.
