i have fried my hdd i think ?
i was using it as my external hdd untill one lovely day when by my mistake ive used wrong charger and it went btzzssasss dead
ive checked hdd directly in my pc and its not working no revs eighter only some sort of clicking .
case is fine working perfect with another hdd
i have visual checked pcb looks ok but one of them litle chips is getin red hot and burn smels when power is on
pleas any ideas help help help

PS:
Problem fixed it was TVS diode

Everything you have stated is not in line with a TVS chip problem.
