Hello,
My drive died, and I think the problem is in the logic/PCB. I had a replacement provided, but the date code and part number were different, and the swap didn't work. Here's what I am looking for:
MODEL: BARRACUDA 7200.11 750 Gbytes (ST3750630A)
P/N: 9BX146-033
FIRMWARE: DE12
DATE CODE: 09095
SITE CODE: KRATSG
I had a PCB from the same model drive, site code and firmware, but the date code was 09235 and the P/N was 9BX146-034, and that did not work when I tried it (neither drive worked properly when I swapped the boards).
Thanks in advance! I really hope I can get my data off my old drive! |

Same thing happened to me a few weeks ago. Same exact P/N, firmware, site code. Dell provided a replacement, but the P/N was the same as yours (034), and the date code was different too. Neither drive worked properly when I swapped the boards. I heard a clicking sound. I think we both need exact replacements, with the P/N matching exactly. It's a travesty that Seagate shipped so many faulty drives out. |

All I can say is...ugh! We could perhaps swap PCBs and see if either of them helps the situation? Just a thought. |
