2 Almost identical drives...will switching work ? any help?

Hello again...

I'm the one with the 80 gig western digital dead hard drive Crying or Very sad

After a few months of searching, I've located a drive almost indentical to mine...

Mine:
model: WD800JB-00FSA0
Date: 08 May 2003
DCM : HSBHCVJCH

The one located:
model: WD800JB-00FSA0
date: 20 nov 2003
dcm : HSBHCTJCA

please give advice on 2 things:

1-If I should try and switch the boards or not
2-If the boards are similar, I switch them and it does not work...is there a possibility Data can be lost...or just not read but data kept intact...?

please advice Idea
