I have a hard drive that was an external that someone plugged the wrong voltage power brick into. Causing the logic board to blow. in an attempt to recover. I need to find it's replacement. I am willing to pay for the Harddrive and toss you a bit of dollars your way as well as the data is VERY important and I dont have THAT MUCH to send to data recovery. ($1,000 +)

Specs:

Size: 1 Terabyte

SN: WD10EAVS-00D7B1
WWN:50014EE257B3AA74
DCM: DHNNNT2CFB
LBA: 1953525168
Sata / 8 MB cache
5 VDC: 0.70A
12 VDC: 0.55A
R/N: 701590

WDT-701590(B)

NMB-003 Class B

Any more details I can give on my work break. hope someone has one I can buy.

If you upload a detailed photo of the component side of your board, one of us may be able to help you repair it. Many times the problem is only a shorted diode, in which case it can simply be removed.

Good luck.

Hey guys. Thanks for the help. I usually check this every few days. anyway.

I dont have a screwdriver / torx screwdriver to pull the Logic board off. i'll have to goto Microcenter (Computer store) for one I guess.

Anyway, so all I need to do is post a pic of the logic board for comparison purposes?

Also, whats this about transferring firmware? Wouldn't the logic board be replaced with the newer one then connected to the hard-drive itself?

side note. It did smoke on me (the sata power section) when hooked to the computer. I doubt the harddrive itself is dead. just the logic board.

Depending on the model, there may be a serial EEPROM chip which contains unique drive specific calibration data. You need to transfer these data from patient to donor. A photo would be useful ...
