My hard drive died with potentially many photos and documents. I would be grateful if anyone has a match they could spare.
MDL: WD1600BB-00DWA0
Date 24 APR 2004 M
DCM: HSBHCTJAH
S/N: WMAEH1310597
Numbers on the black lead connector: 2061-001173-000D XW 1E13 TFVW 3 0002500 3502

The problem with the drive seems to be internal, so a full matching drive would be best. If anyone can provide some insight, here's a sound clip of the drive booting up: https://dl.dropbox.com/u/72238/20100501%20211459.m4a
It would repeat this several times, and would hang at the BIOS HD Detection. |

can't open your files. please double it's my system or file problem. and your drive seems no the PCB problem. it got crash head.

Also, I have access to a class 100 cleanroom. What sort of tools can I use to swap out the platters from a matching donor? Does anybody have a matching donor? |

If I do get my hands on a matching donor and attempt a head swap, do I swap the good heads from the good drive into the bad drive? How do I keep the tips of the heads from touching each other while I remove it from the donor? Do I keep the PCB on the bad drive, or do I use the donor's PCB?

for head. i am so sorry that may be 5% success for newbie. and you need use original PCB. it's will more expensive if you had to send it to data recovery company after open hard drive. think it over and over before action. good luck!
