Hi, I have this drive that is not seen in the computer bios, but it does spin up and makes clicking noise.

When I connect power to the drive without the data cable it winds up and makes two clicks then winds down and then repeats. looking at the PCB I do not see any burn.

5% - PCB
95% - Read/Write heads

You will need a pro if you want to recover data from this drive.

Well how hard can a head be to replace?
One has to learn some how to do it.
I have nothing to lose, but I would love to have the old pictures off of it.

I work helping the disabled and senior citizen get around and fix their computer when I can for free, so I can not rap much money up in repairs.
This drive, the owner has given it up for loss.

Guess it is time to build a cheap clean room box and look for a hard drive head.
I got a few more old drives to play with and see if I can fix them also.

So, dropping the drive off a tall building will not fix it....DARN! Rolling Eyes
