|
|
Hello,
This is my first time here so hello everybody!
Sadly my Maxtor DiamondMax 20 has let me down…
So I'm in need of an replacement PCB for my drive.
The specs:
Maxtor diamondMax 20
SN: 9N0BZKR
STM3250824AS
PN: 9DN133-326
Firmware: 3.AAJ
Date code: 07135 Site code: TK
Circuitboard no: 100387566 W 77123CUW
If I missed something, please let me know!
I've also read that the firmware must be the same or otherwise the drive may not work.
Can somebody help me?
Thank you & sincerely,
Laurens
PS: This is the answer I've got from Maxtor - Seagate, I find it a little bul*
So first of all I like to try with a replacement PCB before paying dearly for recovery services…
Dear Laurens:
Thank you for sending your Seagate E-mail inquiry.
Little can be done when a drive failure occurs due to power surges, physical damage to the drive, or head crashes. It is advisable to contact a data recovery company capable of retrieving the data on the hard drive. Seagate has its own Data Recovery division which offers this service and can provide any answers you might have about recovering the data on the hard drive
See the following link: https://www.seagatedatarecovery.com/index.aspx
Replacing the drive's circuit board or any other component on the drive, can further damage the drive and is not guaranteed to resolve the problem. This is due to the unique values stored within the circuit board on the hard drive, including information about sector characteristics. Attempting to replace the circuit board on a hard rive will end up further damaging not only the drive, but the data on the drive. It is for these reasons that Seagate does not sell replacement parts, nor does Seagate recommend nor support the practice of replacing parts on our hard drives. Be aware that Seagate is not responsible for any damage that may occur when attempting this type of operation. Furthermore, this operation will void your Warranty.
For information on your warranty status, please see this page:
http://www.seagate.com/www/en-us/support/warranty_&_returns_assistance/
If you have any additional questions, please let me know.
Best Regards,
Erika
