I do have that board, but it won't help you.
That model drive has unique adaptive data stored on a board.

Where are you located?

Unique adaptive data? Wonderful...Sometimes I hate technology. SO, if two of the chips are fried (visually I can see this) how do I get the data off the Hard Drive? There are some important pictures and documents on there... (the owner is a professional photographer...I know...BACKUPS!) And they are out of the area, I was going to restore this as a nice surprise, but it's looking to be more difficult than I anticipated...so...I'm open to ideas.

I'm located in North Carolina.

When replacing the board, you need to transplant the 8-pin serial EEPROM chip from patient to donor. This chip contains the "adaptives".

Let us know if you need help identifying the part. Otherwise this article may help you:

If you are not adept at soldering, your local TV/AV repair shop will be able to do it for you. Otherwise, if you purchase a PCB from the following supplier, he will do the ROM transfer for $10.

it was originally an external drive. it just one day decided not to power up. i assumed it was the enclosure. i took it out of the enclosure and hooked it up directly to my comp and when hooked up the computer won't even turn on.

You most likely have a TVS diod shorted.
Post a picture of your board. I'll show you where it is and tell you how to proceed.
