its a same board used on both drives.

You will have to reprogram new board/s with info from original drives.

You will need a special equipment or physicaly move ROM chip from original board to a new one, both not an easy step for a newbie in this area.

If you'll need help to resolder ROM chip or reprogram new boards, I can offer to do this for you.

I am in the same situation as the OP, a disk is no longer spinning up and is part of a RAID array.

Harddrivespecialist, What country are you based in? I would be happy to send the disk to someone in the UK for repair, but overseas would be expensive. Can you give me a rough idea how much it would cost to fit and program a replacement board for my ST3500320AS?
