i have two HDD of WD. one is 20Gb and other is 160Gb.
i was using 20 one as my primary HDD and 160 one as a storage.
but my 20gb one got infected and OS stoped loading. but 160gb one was working fine.
so now i installed windows XP on my 160gb one after formating it. and its working fine.
but it will not work if my 20 gb one is also not connected.
if i connect only 20gb one it is not recognized. same with 160gb. but if i connect both together my bios detects and OS is loaded from 160gb.
my 20gb HDD is spinning fine also my new OS is detecting it in Device Manager and says its working fine. but i cannot see any HDD drive in the my computer window. so how do i recover my data.
i also tried my 20gb HDD on UNIX based computer but still it reamin undetected.
can anyone detect the problem. i will be very greatfull.........
thanx in adv....... |

Check your system setup in bios to make sure the drives are detected there one at a time and together.
Check your jumpers on the drives 160 should be master and 20 should be slave.
Good luck... |
