i heard fixing a dead hard disk is possible and i have a very similar problem as my 1 is up the creak, but its external h,drive with 140gigs of family home movies and treasures(10 years worth) which i stupidly did not back up.the manufacturer is telling me that its not possible to fix as well as a lot of independent stores.
this is the problem in full:
1.my computer shows the existence of my hard disk, shows up as it did countless times.
2.when i click to enter it the page freeze`s and does not allow me to access it.it also removes the drive as it does normally when i click the task bar icon.
3.the light comes on and off all the time and makes clicking sounds, but will not allow me to access my data.
if u got any solutions help me out as it is heartbreaking to lose them.
