I have a PCB question from this post in the "Wanted" forum... http://www.deadharddrive.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=876
My hard drive is Western Digital WD2500JS-75NCB1.
Details of my drive:
MDL: WD2500JS-75NCB1
DATE: 09 OCT 2005
DCM: DSBHCTJAA
PCB sticker: 2061-701335-800 AG XW 2T19 F6QP 6 0003140 6143
and printed on the PCB is: 2060-701335-003 REV B
The question is:
Quote: | I found a PCB that was from the same model, but the old PCB was
2060-701335-003 REV B and the new PCB is 2060-701335-005 REV A
replacing the PCB resulted in it being recognized by the BIOS, but the OS could not read.
Would replacing the ROM (U12) chip make these PCB's compatible? |
Also, the new hard drive had a problem with formatting, it gets to 62% and never finishes. I assume that is a drive issue and not a PCB issue so the PCB should still be good? |
