I have an old maxtor 20gb
model: 32049u3
HDA: 33A
PCBA: 05b
Unique: 05a
Code Bac51kj0
I matched every number and the production dates are one month, 2 days appart. The numbers on the big chip of the circuit board are the same. When I power up the drive is spins up now (it didn't do that with the old PCB) but it makes loud clicking and does not register. Someone said it is probably the wrong firmware but there is no firmware version listed. Any ideas?
There are a few codes below a bar code on the left that do not match but I don't know if they are important.
Mine is:
C,M,C,A
S/N; N3A1AS9C
B 11
ER
New one is:
K,M,C,A
S/N N3R4ARCC
A 61
ER |

CarGuy,
Your Firmware code is Bac51kj0. I'm not 100% sure about this generation adapters. To guarantee best match you should match:
Pcb Code
Bac51kj0
C,M,C,A
Other damage like firmware or Head assembly are also possible.
