I recently toasted a few chips on my board on my Western Digital hdd. I sent my board away to a company that sells new boards and had my old firmware put on it. It still doesn't work. When it is powered up it waits about 5 seconds and then sounds like its hitting the head against the side once every second. It also did this when I first toasted the drive and tried another pcb in the broken hdd from a very similar (but not the same) hard drive. Does this sound like something else was also damaged in the hard drive other than the damage done to the PCB? What can I do about this? Many thanks in advance for your advice.
P.S. I should also add that the drive is not recognized in the bios. |
