Hi. I was just wondering if I should bother. The Western Digital hard drive, [I've heard a lot about them on here,] is from 2002. And I searched their site for it. But it doesn't exist.

Also, my PC started ticking and flashing of it's own accord. It was turned off and suddenly started making noise and flashing. Nobody touched it. Is this normal? I took the power cable out and it stopped. But it smelled of burnt plastic. Does this mean I need a new power supply as well?

Because I did try to boot it up two days later to see if I could salvage something. Anything! And it did nothing for about 5 minutes. Then started ticking again. Sad

In conclusion, new power supply and hard drive. Forget salvage. Yay or nay?
