Hi!
I need a new logic board for my hard drive.
My WD400 40gb infos:
model: WD400BB-00DEA0
date: 22 May 2002
DCM: HSBACV2AH
firmware: 0000 001129 - 000 CD5 X W 1907 FFG6 8 00 06 47 0
I think the disc is OK, but the board is broken for sure...
Do u think i can do something with this two logic board?
the first:
Model WD400BB-00AUA1
DCM JRCJEGYH
and the second:
Model WD400BB-23DEA0
if no...
someone can sell me the right board?
I need to recover my data!
Thanks to all! |

The most important number is the first 13 digits of the white bar code sticker that is stuck on the 40 pin ribbon cable connector. If they match you have a matching PCB. The firmware is the DCM number. I have seen them change the firmware once a day so the odds of matching this number is very small. If you get a matching PCB the firmware can be transferred over. How are you sure that it is your PCB that is burnt out? Sometimes the Service Area data (which is located on negative cylinders on your disk) gets corrupted. If this data gets corrupted the drive never comes to a ready state and your BIOS will never see it. You can change your PCB and firmware and it still will not work. |
