if your drive is clicking then there are 4 possible causes...
Dead heads is one of them....
But it could be a simple firmware or pcb issue, so you can try and fix it yourself...could be the SA which ... |

Yeah avoid absolutely the freezer thing. The idea of bringing some cold on the drive is good and need to be done properly. It might be enough for you to finish a scan and get your data back.

Seems to be a pcb/firmware issue so no big deal.....Do you know how to rewrite firmware on the disk and do you have the equipment to do it?
You might need a new exact same pcb as well...
